According to the information, under the new policy, the first 10,000 women will be given subsidy of up to Rs 36,000 for purchasing EV. This subsidy will be decided based on the capacity of the battery. A subsidy will be given at the rate of Rs 12,000 per kWh (KWH), that is, if a woman buys a 3kwh battery scooter, she will get a maximum relief of Rs 36,000.

This policy will not only benefit the new EV buyers, but has also been encouraged for those who scrape old petrol and diesel vehicles. The Delhi government will give an additional discount of up to Rs 10,000 on scraping old vehicles. Also, a subsidy of up to Rs 30,000 will also be given at the rate of Rs 10,000 per kW on purchasing new EV. This is considered an important step towards adopting clean energy vehicles by removing old polluting vehicles.
New policy will remain in force for a long time
This new EV policy of the Delhi government is not only for a few months, but it is made under a long -term plan. According to the information, the proposed policy will be implemented till 31 March 2030 after getting approval from the state assembly. This means that for the next five years, consumers will be able to take advantage of the benefits received under this policy. The policy will include two wheelers, three wheelers and commercial EV vehicles.

Currently, many companies have launched their products in the EV market. Large companies like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, Vida and TVS have electric scooters with one to four kW and battery capacity. Customers can select scooters according to their need and budget. These include options like Ola S1, Ather 450X, Vida V1 and TVS IQUBE, which are becoming increasingly popular due to smart features, better range and low maintenance.
